According to the American Journal of Medicine, Dr. Ashley Meyer and colleagues from the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas, collected remote consultation data completed from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012, and summarized and analyzed it to determine the research results of the relevant project. The results showed that remote consultation changed the diagnostic opinions or treatment plans of over 40% of project participants.

Among the 2683 patients surveyed, 94.7% expressed satisfaction with the remote consultation they received. 14.8% of remote consultations changed the original diagnosis, and 37.4% recommended different treatment plans; Remote consultations that differ from the original diagnosis or treatment plan account for 41.5%.
